通風管道是為了使空氣流通，降低有害氣體濃度的一種市政基礎設施。通風管，風管制作與安裝所用板材、型材以及其他主要成品材料，應符合設計及相關產品現行標準的規定，并應用出廠檢驗合格證明，材料進場時應按現行有關標準進行驗收。通風管道按材質分：一般有：鋼板風管、鍍鋅板風管、不銹鋼通風管、玻璃鋼通風管、塑料通風管、復合材料通風管、彩鋼夾心保溫板通風管、雙面鋁箔保溫的通風管、單面彩鋼保溫風管、涂膠布通風管、礦用塑料通風管等；

1.對于比較復雜的民用建筑，在設計階段，各工種首先應協商好空間分隔，定出每種管道的標高范圍。一般情況下不得越出給自己規定的界限。遇有個別管段要越界時應與其他工程協商。

2.解決各種通風管道相碰及協調的原則，一般為：“小管讓大管，有壓讓無壓”。例如，自來水管與風管相撞，則應當自來水管拐彎。冷、熱水管與下水管相碰，則應改變冷、熱水管道。

3.施工前應設備總管的工程師，將各工種的管線，單線畫在一張平面圖上。每種管道用一種彩色筆。在各交點處綜合其標高，看是否有矛盾之處，及時發現，將問題解決在安裝之前。

4.為了減少投資，節省空間，降低層高，有些敷設無坡度要求的管道，可以穿梁敷設。
